After more than five decades of activity and over thirty released albums, Sérgio Godinho presents, for the first time on stage, Sérgio Godinho's Love Songs – Biographies of Love. A show that is part of the Montepio Sometimes Love Festival and starts from one of the central themes of his work: love, understood as a vital force, engine of life's struggles and raw material of songs.
Attentive chronicler of Portugal over the last fifty years, Sérgio Godinho has built a repertoire that many recognize as the soundtrack of our lives — and, inevitably, of our loves. By gathering these songs in the same show, the musician proposes a rediscovery: themes that gain new meanings over time, remaining faithful to their essence, like a tree with firm roots that continues to bear new fruit.
For this concert, Sérgio Godinho is accompanied by a collective of musicians from different generations, with musical direction and arrangements by António Quintino, in a careful and renewed reading of songs that are part of the heritage of Portuguese music.
