On April 2nd, the MEO Arena in Lisbon will transform into a huge Rio-style party for the first edition of the "O Complexo" Festival, the biggest funk festival ever held in Portugal. "O Complexo" will feature various performances dedicated to the musical genre that dominates playlists, dance floors, and streaming statistics, with MC Livinho and MC Tuto as the first confirmed acts.
Currently, funk music is consistently integrated into musical consumption habits in Portugal, being heard in the streets, on social media, and increasingly on national radio airplay. On streaming platforms, the impact is evident: several songs from the genre regularly appear among the most listened-to in the country, reflecting a vast and continuously growing audience.
