Alga, pseudonym of Cláudia Simões, is interested in music from a performative and emotional perspective, taking the listener on a sensory and supernatural journey through deeply personal and evocative soundscapes. With spectral voices, field recordings, improvisations, and loops, she creates a soundscape haunted by spirits, patient and contemplative, laden with memories and nebulous allusions.
Earlier this year, Alga released “Terceiro Solstício” through the Coletivo Casa Amarela. An album guided by delicate guitars, ethereal vocals, tracks woven from sighs and layers upon layers, like secrets and small nocturnal rituals under the cold glow of the moon. Beautiful, evocative, and silently transformative. Alga dedicates this work to winter: a season of introspection, stillness, and subtle magic.
Concert included in the program of the Santos da Casa 2026 Festival, promoted by Rádio Universidade de Coimbra.
